Two outstanding events last week
I spoke at two great events last week. The first was the Nashville Public Speaking and Onstage Performance Meetup at Cummins Station in Nashville.
We had a great group of people. I had the opportunity to train each person who attended live onstage. Students learned how to utilize the power of the story as a public speaking technique.
It was amazing to see the dramatic changes as students broke down barriers with the audience. Many were able to overcome performance anxiety and gain valuable onstage performance and public speaking skills.
My second talk of the week was at Barcamp Nashville a conference for the digital and technical community held at Cadillac Ranch. There were some truly amazing people there. I am very non-technical but felt right at home because of the deep need for technically minded business people to connect with their audience.
I spoke on how to How to use the power of public speaking to establish yourself as an expert and rise to the top 10% of your field. The event was a huge success.
Here are a few comments from those who attended:
“Bruce the “moose” was fantastic. He is engaging, professional and candid–things that are essential if one is to instruct a student in public speaking or performance. I had a blast! It was worth the drive and worth the time! I hope he holds another session in a few weeks so I can gain more knowledge and meet more cool people. By the way, Bruce, I’m working on a new and improved “story”. Yay! ”
““It was great. Very educational and very inspiring. Bruce was very knowledgeable, helpful, and provided a great amount of value. I look forward to learning more and supporting Bruce and the group. ”
“Good teacher and content. The message was valuable and well delivered. There are some minor logistical things that would help those in attendance - things like announcing at the beginning - the agenda, when to break, when it is appropriate to ask questions, where to park, where the bathrooms are, etc. Overall, the meeting was very worthwhile and enjoyable. ”
Both events were video taped. I will upload excerpts of the videos here soon.
